Funding Model

The landed values of different fishery and species are obtainable in the Government Notice No. 158 of 26 June 2017.

A person who engages in harvesting in Namibian waters in terms of a right, an exploratory right or fisheries agreement must pay a levy at a rate of 0.9% of the landed value of each fishery and per species in the form in which it is landed as determined by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.

Payment must be made within 7 days of receipt of the invoice from the Fisheries Observer fund.

The landed values of each fish species is determined by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources.
